Bioshock: Little Bit of a Spoiler
Well I have just completed my wandering through the underwater city of Rapture for the second time. The first time round I saved all of the little sisters. (How could I not) I realized early in the first game that there would most likely be another ending.
You encounter what I would call an ar**hole splicer early in the game, he has already killed the big daddy the worst of them all and has set his mind on doing the same to the little sister. After you send him on his way you are given the option to save the little sister by harvesting only part of her Adam, or take it all and put her out of her misery.
If you harvest part of the Adam throughout the game, you will save the little sisters and eventually arrive at the good ending… If you harvest all the Adam killing the little sisters you will again eventually end up at the bad ending…
In my opinion this game is absolutely brilliant, It all starts after your plane mysteriously crashes near a lighthouse. You are the only survivor. After struggling to the surface you swim through the flaming floating wreckage to the lighthouse, did I mention this lighthouse seems to be in the middle of nowhere (strange).
BIOSHOCK… Spoiler if you continue to read.
Entering the lighthouse, is the start to a not so stress free adventure, lights are automatically triggered and you find what appears to be a bathysphere step in and begin your adventure. As you descend in the bathysphere you get to see the underwater city of Rapture (impressive) The mastermind behind Rapture is a businessman named Andrew Ryan… Rapture the perfect society?
From entering the underwater city in the bathysphere you meet your first splicer and you realise things have gone drastically wrong. The city has gone from earthquake to disaster area and genetic freaks (splicers) who kill anything that gets in there sights.
Search the city for audio diaries, learn what went wrong in what from the outside looks like the perfect place on earth, learn how adam has been genetically used and gives you the abilities to shoot lighting bolts and other plasmid powers out of your finger tips, as well as having a complete arsenal of weapons, all for your own protection and boy are you going to need it all.
Would I recommend this game? Yes, I most certainly would. You do not need a dual processor to play the game if you turn some of the options down and you will still get the best out of the greatest game ever released for the PC, in my opinion. That said, my son did mention a game that has been in the making for 4 or 5 years now. Its name is SPORE and is from the mind of Will Wright, the creator of The Sims. I think the story line is pretty neat, from a microbe to running the galaxy. It has the making to even outshine Bioshock. If you fancy, here’s a video from Youtube which takes a look at the making of Spore
If you do not come across a post on Spore then you know someone got it wrong and what appeared to be out-of-this-world, never actually happened and therefore a thumbs down for Spore.
